Example of Monday – Friday Course at Benmore

Monday

0800 Drop off suitcases in Sciennes Hall from 8am and return to playground

0830 Register with Class Teacher from 8.30am, hand in any medication with KIC form in tranparent sealed named bag, return to playground and visit toilet. Take a travel sickness tablet if required. Parents are welcome to wave pupils off but are kindly requested to wait in the playground to ease congestion.

0915 Return to Hall (reminded to take travel sickness tablets)

0930-0945 Load suitcases and board buses. Take day bag, waterproof hooded jacket, water bottle and packed lunch onto bus.

0945-1000 Depart

1230 Own packed lunch at Gourock

1330 – Arrival. Take any bag from the buses into the centre. Introduction, room allocation, bed–making. Tour of building, equipment issue. Local walk/activity.

1700 – Tea and cake, followed by time for shower and freetime

1815 – Two course dinner

1915 – Diary Time as a class and the shop will be open only to view souvenirs; one sweet can be purchased)

2000 – Evening activity (often Night Walk on Monday)

Bedtime (to be arranged with visiting staff)

Tuesday/Wednesday

0800 – Wake up call

0830 – Breakfast

0900 – Tidy rooms/duties/dorm inspection

0930 – Briefing followed by morning activity

1300 – Lunch followed by afternoon activity

1700 – Tea and cake, followed by time for shower and freetime

1815 – Two course dinner

1915 – Diary Time as class and the shop is open for souvenirs; only one sweet can be purchased)

2000 – Evening activity

Thursday

0800 – Wake up call

0830 – Breakfast

0900 – Tidy rooms/duties/dorm inspection

0930 – Briefing followed by morning activity

1300 – Lunch followed by afternoon activity. Wash and return all equipment.

1700 – Tea and cake, followed by time for shower and packing/clearing drying rooms

1815 – Two course dinner

1915 – no diaries or shop so finish packing (except for toiletries, nightwear and clothes for journey home) and get ready for disco.

2000 Dorm Inspections to check everyone is packed

2015 – Evening activity – Disco

Bedtime at agreed time

Friday

0730 – Wake up call then strip beds

0800 – Breakfast and travel sickness tablets. Medicine returned.

0830 – Tidy rooms/duties/dorm inspection. Take down suitcases, visit toilet and meet in Common Room with jacket, day bag and water bottle.

0915 Pupils help load any suitcase onto any bus.

0930 – Coach leaves

1230 ETA

Parents are kindly requested to help unload the buses and ease congestion by taking any suitcase into the playground. (Bags will have been loaded onto either bus at random.)
